Hi, such is life that all girls are born to wear and endure the colour Pink! Some love it and others hate it, my daughter Mackenna is a really feminine girly girl and loves the soft and pretty shades of pink. Today I'm sharing with you a very soft and Vintage 'Pink' layout.

Happiness is a burst of love sent from above.

For This layout I have used: Pion designs Papers - From my Heart II Collection, Fairytale of Spring and Images from the past.

I have teamed it with products from Green Tara - An Australian Company which has the most stunning range of Flowers, stems, leaves, lace, ribbons etc.

Hi there, Yes I'm here for the usual late night post as it's a little computer chill time B4 I call it a night.

This is a layout that I did for Twiddleybitz and the Brisbane Expo last week. I really love the Twiddleybitz rusting powder - it gives their chipboard such amazing colour and texture.

I was asked if this was actual wood planks? No it's new paper from MM Eye and I'm really happy though that I cut it and raised it to different levels and I got the desired effect.

I've also used the old favourite on chipboard - Tim Holtz Crackle Paint and a touch of Prima.

I really enjoy the challenge of a different palette & Sketch each week, although sometimes I must admitt I curse at some of the different colour choices, but they do exactly what they are mean't to do - Challenge me!

Hi there, what more can I say.....it doesn't get more girly than a whole lot of Dusty Pink!

Add a touch of Cream, taupe, Martha Stewart, Kaiser and Prima for a hint of sweetness.

Hello, today I'm sharing a layout I created for my daughter Mackenna. Occasionally I like to colour challenge myself and as I don't like the colour red (my daughter loves it!) I thought it's time to lose the fear of using it!

I must say with the stunning dusty and vintage shade of red that Pion Designs has in the 'From my Heart II' collection - I found it a delight to create with. So watch here and on the Pion Designs blog because I'll be using allot more of this stunning 'RED' paper in the future ~ Fear gone!

'She Radiates'Pion Designs papers featured ~ From my Heart II collection. Rose frame, Tags, Captured hearts, borders and Children-Images from the past. Beautiful embellishments and flowers are from Prima.This layout is the same Circle and border idea as the following blog post ~ although it's a different style and completely opposite colour combination. Hello! today I played around with an old layout. This layout was originally created for a class I taught early last year so it was quite minimal.....'Not any more'! I looked at it last week and have had it on my mind since that it needed some extra attention. 'the chase''Featuring Twiddleybitz chipboard -mini alphabet & fern leaves, Prima and Pink Paislee goodness.When it comes to Scrapbooking a little OCD creeps in.............pity it doesn't extend to the area where I create because that looks like a bomb hit it! Hi there! O.K. only 1 more day to go of holidays~ Phew! I so need some me time and allot of quiet scrapping time. Today I actually managed to create a layout (took all day mind you) amongst the play date my son Tarquinn had and the barrage of 175 'MUM?' interruptions, focus just wasn't there.

This layout features a stunning soft and feminine paper range ~ The Scrapcake. Of course I couldn't resist teaming it with some soft and subtle Prima flowers and embellishments.I rarely journal on my pages ~ I prefer to take a more artistic/canvas approach to all my layouts however they do have a title whether it is placed on the front or back I decide when I create.

What lies beneath?

It's late now but I still have a little time to gather some paper and embellishments together in hope of creating again tomorrow and certainly on 'Back to School' Thursday! Goodnight G!

Hi there! I must say I was 'Over the Moon' when I found that Green Tara was featuring my layout this week. As a new member to the Green Tara team it's a wonderful feeling to know and see that they like what I create. In saying that I hope you like my layout as well!
This is an old photo from 5 years ago that makes me remember when these 2 didn't fight and argue with each other all day!
Green Tara have some wondeful products - including numerous various flowers and roses, extensive ribbon collections, leaves, papers, sprays and stems and many other embellishments perfect for creating both layouts and OTP!
Products used: Green Tara
Silver spray XP0641, Silver Stem XB28558, Gardenia's Ivory FDV054Iv & FDV054Iv5 and Batik Vintage flowers ~FDS026BatV & FDS026BatV4. Some of these flowers have been sprayed with Key lime and graphite glimmer mist.
I have also used Prima Paper and chipboard pieces - Ledger & Printery and have added Twiddleybitz steampunk Cogs coated in Twiddleybitz rusting powder to make the page a little more masculine.

O.K. I've been MIA!!! Sunshine, Swimming and tanning on one of the best beaches in the world, 6.00am -22degrees beach walks, Drinks at cafe's and beachfront bars, Dinning out and not having to cook for weeks! Catching up with wonderful people and a few Scrapbook celebrities! MMmmm.........sound good, well thats Queensland and paradise!!!!

I hate to say it but there's nothing as good as home, your own comfy bed and pillow. So glad to be back and at last a ~ goodnight sleep!

(oops and don't forget I get to do some scrapping tomorrow).

Good morning and Happy Christmas, Yes I just got a very early wake up call from my 9 yr old son Tarquinn asking 'is it to early to open presents'? Do I have to wait for the other 2 before I can open them?

Answer: Hell yes and come back in 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!

So now that I can't get back to sleep I thought I would enjoy a coffee and add a Christmas morning post.

Hello, Welcome and Merry Christmas. Today I'm going to show some detailed pictures and close-ups of my latest layouts that are featured in Australian Scrapbooking magazines.

I was honoured to get the 'Technique of the Month' feature this month in Scrapbooking Memories.

The colours appear really washed out in the Mag and I don't think you can really see the technique very well so I hope you can in my close-ups. This was one of my favourite paper ranges this year -Pink Paislee ~Butterfly Garden.

Also in this issue is my layout 'Shadow dance'. Featuring 7 gypsies paper, Twiddleybitz chipboard scrolls and alpha, Prima flowers, K & Co adhesions and Pink Paislee Artisan elements.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a Scrapbook Creations Design team Diva this year and look forward to another year with the Magazine.

This is one of my favourite layouts that I created a few years back aand was finally picked up for publishing. Many hours/days of hand sewing and beading went into this layout.

Hello and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Oh my! it's getting closer. Today is a short post as I'm racing off to my first Christmas party - yes the festivities have started already! Every year I wonder what to give the teachers for a present and I think they maybe just a little overstocked with coffee mugs? So I decided to make a chipboard gift bag to fill with chocolates and Santa's. I hope they like them.

These Twiddleybitz chipboard bags are featured in the Christmas issue of Scrapbook Creations.

Once again I can't resist using Prima flowers and crystals, Tim Holtz crackle paint, designs Galore paper and Twiddleybitz for the chipboard finishing touches.

Hello Hello! Isn't life just so, so Hectic at this time of year and to top it off aren't kids so, so demanding at this time of year! I have been given numerous requests for Santa -which seem to change every few days mind you and I think they believe that Santa has millions. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I wish Santa could make time slow down so I can get all my Scrapbooking commitments finished B4 the big 25th day arrives. O.K. so Best I stop rambling and tell you about my upcoming next class.

I was asked the why?? about the title of this layout. My daughter MacKenna is blowing one of those weeds from the garden. when they fly in the air we call them 'fairies' but when my father was young he called them 'marching soldiers', hence "getting their marching orders"!

A shabby Christmas and sweet vintage!

Hi Everyone, I keep telling myself Christmas is approaching fast so hurry up and dig those old photo's out that have been waiting to be scrapped for years and get Cracking because B4 you kow it I'll have a whole lot more photo's from this year to add to the pile!

I have spent this past week creating a Christmas layout and some Vintage cards with some amazing and stunning Green Tara products.

'JOY'

Products: Green Tara - Satin Christmas shapes from Ribbon, Christmas bouquet, wreath- cut into pieces, white poinsettia, white flower spray and metal swirl.

The chipboard Frame and Christmas ornament are from Twiddleybitz. The frame has been made from a fence - cut and re-worked together with Tim Holtz crackle paint. Little birdy is from Prima. And now I have some Sweet and Romantic Vintage style cards made with Green Tara - Gingham and Organza ribbons, Roses, Poinsettia, Gardenia, Metal heart and corners, Silver spray and White Lace which has simply been dyed with coffee.

I love the gorgeous colours and various sizes of the Green Tara roses they are just wonderful for cards and layouts.

Finally to finish off ....a vintage style Masculine card. 'One fond Heart'

Hi there! My Pixie Glen -Prima class has finished and I must say - it was such a lovely relaxing and enjoyable class. So now ........ here are a few full layout photos. The first layout shows a photo of my daughter from about 4 yrs ago and is a favourite that was waiting to be scrapped, I think this paper and the gorgeous shutters were just the right embellishment worth waiting for!

Bounjour et bienvenue -Hello and welcome!

SO that's it from me.....the best of the French that I can remember from....SSHhhh, 30 long years ago. I was always the disruptive wild child at school and spent most of the class standing outside the door. Now I spend alot of time picking up my disruptive son from the principles front door - Oh well like mother, like son!

I did learn a valuable lesson today though - how to add a followers list to my blog...... hooray a new achievment! So if you like my blog let me know by becoming a follower.

It's school holidays again - that dreaded time when the kids are bored and have a 5 min question span for mum. I managed to get this done last week and have resorted to Harry Potter movies to distract one, Craft for another and roll-up sugar fixes for the youngest just so I can do a blog post.

Re-NEW and Re -DO!!!!!!

Hello, today I decided to take a look at all the old layouts I scrapped (and hated by the way) and thought it's time to Re-DO these and make them worthy of a place in my album. Wow! I didn't realize just how bad I had scrapped them all so many years ago.

Twiddleybitz have this fantastic New product called -Rusting Powder'.
It goes onto your chipboard like embossing powder and then you spray with vinegar, leave it overnight and it comes alive with the look and feel of Rust! It looks amazing on the Twiddleybitz oval frame and Grape vine corner.

Adding a little K & Co and Prima to any layout always makes me smile too!

Hi there, it's not often that I feel I hit the nail on the head -get it right! when I create but with these two layouts that's what I think 'They really are perfectly both me'. I love all things with texture and dimension.

Wonderland Tea.

The background is Petalloo -Color me Crazy fabric ribbon which I have hand sewn together.
The gates and leaves are Twiddleybitz - covered in Tim Holtz crackle paint and inks. The flowers are Prima and the Title is from Crafty Secrets.

Blinding Beauty

The background paper is Kaiser and the overlay has been hand cut from a Creative Imaginations paper. Yes! I'm often called insane when I spend so many hours fussy cutting, but it's a relaxing therapy when you have 3 full on young children.
Title, trinkets and flowers are Prima, Pink Paislee butterflies, Green Tara stems and banners are Glitz design.

Hi, It's the 12th September.......... I think so many people in the world are relieved the 11th's past. I certainly am. I remember I was due to fly to the USA two weeks after 9/11 and all had to be cancelled. Planning my third trip now since then and looking forward to see the streets of NY!

Back to scrapping. I think it is much easier to scrap girl pages ... I always stumble when it comes to do boy layouts. I have two sons who love to see layouts about them though so I have to really think hard how to approach each layout and leave the flowers behind. This is my youngest son Connaugh.

Hello, Hello! I'm sitting here wondering what happened to the start of the year.....'Where did it go'? It won't be long and my children will be giving me extensive lists for the 'Big man in Red'.

The shops are starting to get Christmas stock in already, so soon I ask? This is a warning for me to start getting organized.....I so often let time slip away and before I know it, it's too late and I've missed the boat. Not this time! This year I will be doing Two Advent Calender Classes at 'Scrappy Hollow', Melbourne.

The first was very popular last year and requests/hints have been filtering through the shop from customers, again I ask...Already? 'So here they are'!

Hello all, It's a warm and sunny day here in Melbourne today and I'm determined to get off my computer shortly and go and create a layout or two.

The old saying 'green with envy' was my thought for this layout..........because I'm certainly envious of all things Prima. Incase your wondering - yes the overlay is all handcut - many many hours of cutting to say the least, and to add to my madness this is the second time I have cut it for a layout (used in completely different styles).
The background paper, flowers, flocked rub-on negative and trinket is Prima. The title is Kaiser and the tag is K & Co.

I adore this photo of my daugther Mackenna. I have used the photo last year for a class so just had to use again for my/her personnal album. The sunshine awaits! BYE!

WHOOO WHOOOO!

Paperific was a huge success...............but I'm sure glad it's over. I was unlucky enough to get a severe case of the dreaded flu a couple of days B4. Then 3x 12 hour +++ days and the loss of a voice several times each day mean't that I was in total collapse today. Alas, with 3 young children missing mum I wasn't able to get much rest today again.

Can't help myself though...just had a need to add a little post here. These are some of the display items that I made for Twiddleybitz at Paperific.

Twiddleybitz floating frame

The centre is acrylic - I just love this as it adds so much more dimension. I have also added the 3 different sizes of Twiddleybitz Skeleton trees at alternate levels to create more dimension.

My own little stick Angel Conductor at the park. I have been holding onto this photo for over a year just waiting for the right embellishments to create a page. I'm happy and he loves it.flowers and all!
Twiddleybitz chicken Mesh, I can't help myself this is my favourite product at the moment...I really have to stop myself from wanting to use it on everything. I can always get away with using different Prima flowers though.

How cute is this little maestro from the toddler border. Finally this is the 12x12 shadow box I made to keep my layout in. The weekend was so busy that I forgot to get a picture with the layout inside it. Too late now as It's already on the other side of Australia! I think I'll go now and dream of being there also........goodnight!

O.K. I'm talking about Paperific! Fri 26th - 28th Aug. Melbourne showgrounds.

Come and call in and say a big hello at the Scrappy Hollow stand. I'll be there again creating some fantastic make and takes.

I will also be at the Twiddleybitz stand showing all the Sensational products on offer and all the amazing creations from the very talented DT!

This is one of the creations I have made for the show. It's the Twiddleybitz Gingerbread house! Yes I did say Gingerbread house-your not reading that incorrectly. I couldn't resist and decided to completely adapt the house and make it ..... 'Not so Christmas'!!!!

It's a little -far more grungy than I would normally do, a far cry from the norm of shabby vintage! A change in style is often like a breath of fresh air......reviving!

As this is my first cover with Scrapbook Creations I thought I would show some close ups! The challenge SC set was Prima - and anyone who knows me definately knows how much I 'love' Prima. I could almost open up my own shop with the stock I have!

Now my son has set me the task of getting him on a cover........Boys layouts -Not so easy!

Hi, it's been a little while - I know!

Sorry dear blog, but as all hard working scrappers know......sometimes commitments have to come first. I also got a little lost looking at all the NEW CHA products.

Here's a few sneaks of my class next week.

It's featuring some fantastic new Twiddleybitz chipboard pieces and I also wanted to play with the new G45 Wizard of Oz papers. So I have come up with a little Vintage and a lotta Oz!

Well hello! I'm so not one for surprises - I usually find myself far too embarrassed and want to go and hide. So this was definately one of those days when the surprise was wonderful. Apparently this is just the reaction that Scrapbook Creations want! A fantastic SHOCK!

My daughter is very excited and can't wait for school holidays to be finished so she can show all her friends. Her father thinks she should aim for big bucks and get the Cleo cover when she gets older. RELAX please........ she already thinks she's 26 and not 6!

Mum just wants the school holidays to be over so I can scrap.

Hello! Hello! I didn't think changing a blog design was going to be so hard. There are so many amazing designs out there to choose from - and everytime I like something a friend told me 'NO' that's not nice.........mmmm not sure which one of us has bad taste?

I went on a blog cruise and 95% of blogs were white based - mine was black, so maybe my taste is bad? Anyway after all my hours of searching I decided on the circus theme - for now anyway! I don't know if she will say 'NO' to my final decision but I love it! Maybe in a few months I'll change it again.

Hi there!

Like many parents I need to give my kids time out and so often put them in the naughty chair or corner. Although I have been told this really isn't a bad naughty corner and asked by several if they can they come over and sit there, it certainly works when your cousins are allowed to play and your stuck there for 30mins.

I have a 5 Websters & Twiddleybitz layout class on the 16th July at Scrappy Hollow, so here are some sneaks and full views of the layouts.

Even though I have two boys I don't often Scrap boys pages and for that I think my oldest son wants to put me in the N-corner!

To finish off a couple of layouts I could put photo's of them all together on!

This tired mum is off to get some sleep so I can get some scrapping done tomorrow with fresh eyes - last day of school tomorrow and that means not much chance for the next few weeks.

Hi There,

Another cold day in Melbourne which means I have an excuse to spend more time by the heating scrapbooking. My children love the circus and certainly love to clown around - the oldest Tarquinn-8 tells me they have plenty of time in life to be serious, so for now they will leave that to mum and dad.

Today I'm showing another Expo project, my Twiddleybitz - G45. Circus shadow box.

As it is for this little man's room I didn't want to put to many items on it -as he loves to rip everything off so I took to layering the base paper!

Hi there! It's a cold Winters day here in Melbourne. The sun may be shining and the sky is a gorgeous cloudless blue, but it's still a chilly 14deg. outside.

Hello there!

Slowly over the next few days I will finally show my 'Twiddleybitz' Brisbane Scrapbook Expo layouts and projects.

NO more sneak peaks, which by the way I really hate them - they are just nasty teasers.

Innocence

This is the stunning 'NEW' Flourish overlay revealed for the first time at the Expo.

I have used lot's of different inks to try and give the chipboard a wrought iron -vintage look and have added some stunning recollections flowers that I bought in Michaels in New York. I have also altered the Twiddleybitz hanging clock and turned it upside down.

This is one of those rare occasions when my children are in a photo together. I have used 4 pieces of chicken mesh Chipboard, covered with various inks and then applied the Tim Holtz crackle paint. The vines are Prima, however I have coloured the flowers with Crafty Notions colour sprays.

My layout 'Life' was featured on The color Room this week.

I created this layout for 'Twiddleybitz' and the Brisbane scrapbook Expo next week.

I'm so excited (even if they spelt my name wrong) as this layout took so long to create-cut!

Hello! Hello!

O.K. so I'm really a scrapbooker at heart that sometimes goes slightly rogue.

I love to do large scale mini albums...mmm not sure if that makes much sense? Occasionally I like to also play with different challenges that come my way. Now up until a month ago I wasn't a card girl (truth is I can't stand giving them away) but after having a little play I found an enjoyment in making them.

This month Twiddleybitz had a card swap........ so I have made three and now face the dilema of which card I'm going to send to a perfect stranger...don't worry stranger I believe in Karma and what goes around comes around.

Of course they must have some Twiddley on them and you must be prepared to never see them again! Don't panic as in return you get some different one's back that others have made.

Hi all,

It's mothers day....Hooray I got to scrap today (and a little yesterday), that was my great present!! along with a dancing flower from my daughter -which is now in her room, and from my son- a mars bar slice from the school stall that he decided to eat. Oh and lots of hugs & kisses from all three which was the best of all.

I decided to refresh my last post. Add some pictures and close ups and remove some as well!

After all this blog is ultimately for me....it's my journey and occasionally I like to try to perfect it.

I design and teach at one of the largest Scrapbook shops here in Melbourne 'Scrappy Hollow', which means I get to recieve the 'NEW' Kaiser product/sample packs in advance. I have created some layouts and cards with the June releases.

Kaiser products: Paper Blooms, Chanteuse posies, Pink gelato collection and pearls.
The layout overlay was created from Kaiser Marrakech paper.
It was slowly cut out-taking several hours, embossed with white emb. powder and then covered with an opal crystal glitter. Finally I placed foam stick it dots under every join to give the dimensional 3d effect .

This layout is for display for the Scrappy Hollow. Kaiser products: Chanteuse papers, white crochet Doiley and Paper bloom. The large flower is Martha Stewart which I bought in Michaels - a fabulous craft store in NY.

I couldn't resist....this paper was so perfect for a vintage shabby layout.

A treasure for my daughters room!
I'm thankful that I have a daughter that loves all things pretty and very girly! This is a Trinket box that she keeps her special head bands in.

I love October afternoon papers Very whimsical!

These are the precious headbands for that special box made with Calico, Kaiser doilies, Pearl brads and paper blooms. I featured these in a previous post. I made a full range of the headbands for all the staff to wear at Paperific.

A Vintage Trinket Just for Me!!!

It's school holiday time and everything I attempt to do has been taken over by my 3 children.

I sat down this morning and finished 'MY' bracelet......I say My because my 6(=26) yr old had a tantrum because she wants/demands 'that bracelet'!!!!

Sorry Mackenna but this one is just for mum!

I just love the Vintage Trinket line from Prima and truely think it does my bracelet absolute justice.

Last year I took some me time and went to the 'Creative Soul Retreat' and spent the weekend in a class with Susan Lenart Kazmer. I had never attempted any form or techniques of Jewellry making before but was Totally inspired. So this is it!....... Inspiration result!

For me, it's the perfect vintage bracelet.

It's time to share one of the Prima canvas layouts I did for Paperific.

I'm so loving the colours of this screen printed canvas.

I have decided that I - 'probably like so many other obsessed scrapbookers' need to start using some old embellishments that are mounting up in storage boxes.

So my new layout tactic is 'something old and something new'.

OH! and sometimes a little handmade or hand stitching too!

The old is: K&Co classic alpha and rub-ons (modified) and Websters alpha stickers. The new: Prima Rub-ons and Vine stems & leaves (modified), Kaiser blooms . The handmade: 2 main Calico flowers hand dyed with Fiber Scraps Ink Tintz. I didn't want to do too much to this layout as I think the colours of the Canvas already make a statement! G

Paperific show and tell!

Paperific was a fantastic show but the wallet faired poorly!

The show is over, so now I can 'show' you......

the headbands, hair ties, rings & wristbands

that I made specifically for Paperific.

I was given Calico, Fiber Scraps ink tintz and

the Dahlia Nestabilities to work with and these are he results.

The make and takes were a choice of ring, wristband/hair tie,

hair clip or brooch.

It certainly was exciting to see so many people wearing them at the show.

Now I have to start the thought process of what to make for the next show!

Got any ideas???

I really do favour the deeper darker shades or otherwise white

and so often get told my style is very 'gothic'?

Not this time girls! I decided to re-do some of my daughters baby photos from 5+yrs ago

and 'The darks' just didn't seem to make the grade.

Christmas seems like it was a week ago with never ending school holidays in there as well!.

March and April are fast approaching and so is the New Kaiser releases.

Here's a sneak at some of the products I got to play with

over the past few weeks!

I have to admit the Crochet Doilie & the

New flower Blooms with the fantastic colour range are absolutely TDF!!!!!!

This is the Lullaby Collection - out in April.

The lamp post has been altered to fit onto top of bookcase

and then covered in Tim Holtz crackle paint.

Christmas and chaos is over so it's time to chill out and scrap!

O.K. easier said then done but at least I will try!

Here is my first layout for 2011

I was still feeling a little Christmas festive with the choice of

crushed green velvet as the fabric.

I was having a Tim Holtz day....Tree and crackle paint

Prima Vine, Pink/P elements & Scrapware mini butterflies.

That's the first of many to create this week, month, year?

Oh.... and hurry up and bring on ....School!!!!!

I have to ask myself..........

Does he understand Christmas?

Does he listen to his siblings and truly comprehend

what they are saying about Santa?

As he sings Jingle Bells with so many minced words

does he really know what he is singing about?

Is I wish you a Merry Christmas just music to groove to?

It's called Autism!

Christmas is another Questionable reminder of many of life's comprehensions

that need to be somehow absorbed

It's a long and winding road.....

Oh so often - 2 steps forward and 5 steps back

with the occasional 3 steps forward and none back!

I cannot change this - it's my learning journey of Autism.

How many kilo's of Potatoes??.......I Wonder?

A friend once told me that to get her children to behave a little better in December

she told them Santa was watching them, and for everytime they

were naughty he took a present away and replaced it with a 'Potato'.

I hate to say it's still/just November and my kids have earn't

themselves a couple of kilo's of potatoes each the last few weeks!

Another friend Clair asked me why I don't load onto this blog much.....

......MMMMmmm

* Naughty children keeping me occupied.

*I have been relaxing in NY and Vegas for a few weeks!

* I also have alot of magazine design commitments which

unfortunately I cannot share here until they are published.

*I have alot of classes on at the moment and I'm already

preparing for next years - 5 layouts in a day classes.

OH! HO HO HO...It's christmas and I have alot to organise and wrap

........all those potatoes!

*and again 'VERY' naughty children keep driving me insane!!!

Chilling out in 'Cool' Soho New York was awesome and

then warming up in Vegas ready for return to our summer

was a perfect ending to a well needed holiday.

Wow! reality sure does bite though.

The kids have developed some serious attitude

while I was away - must be Dads strict discipline

tactics that have sent them over the edge.

The bedrooms are going to take me a week to clean

Great....???

when I can get my foot in the door past that mess?

This is a small match box which has a mini version of a Cinderella book inside.

I need another holiday so I'll be back to NY next week!

(I wish the flight wasn't 24hrs to get there).

WOW! I'm leaving for NY tomorrow and

right now I feel like I'm running around in circles to find my feet!

That saying 'so much to do in so little time' just came true for me

especially today.

Thanks to a friend Ruthie she reminded me that I better

put my new class layouts on this blog or I'm going to

have a very angry BOSS when I get back!

A great mix of old and new Prima because I

The various Prima flowers and vintage doilies have been sprayed with Cherry and Graphite glimmer mist.

Christmas is coming and although it's 3 months away paper

and embellishments are flooding into the shops already!

I take this as a warning sign to start shopping,

(mmm like I need one??).

I'm a big fan of G45 and this year the Xmas range is

'PURE HEAVEN- DIVINE'

I've been busy this week creating this Vintage advent calender

for a 'Scrappy Hollow' Class.

A little Kaiser Xmas and G45 combo.

Now I just need to keep my sons little paws of the boxes and all will be well!

His fascination with hide and seek all things mummy

at the moment is driving me to Coffee?

I was reminded a few days ago that " I actually have a Blog".

It was said with a large amount of sarcasm as well!!!

O.K. girls I got the message.

I SO' often get told what to do....and when the new

G45 Halloween papers came into

"SCRAPPY HOLLOW"

where I occasionally teach....once again I was told exactly

what I was to create this time. (thanks Julie!)

As Halloween is fast approaching

I need a place to put my photo's of my kids

dressed up and face painted for the occasion.

This is the class I'm teaching on october 9th.

Hope you like my special book and I'm also hoping

my children will stop fighting

So often our mood reflects in our creating and blue

is my chill out colour!

Turquoise and chocolate are my favourite colours

and whilst doing some re-furbishing at home I couldn't

resist to do a layout with the spare fabric

Tarquinn and Connaugh - T & C.

Base; Silk damask covered with a sheer shimmer overlay.

Edge; has layers of Vintage Lace, chocolate netting, choc' satin

and the trim from the Silk damask.

Vine leaves and Title are Scrapware.

These have been sprayed with gl/mist and coated with dim/magic.

while still wet I have removed half of the D/m

which gives a weathered look and shows

great colour variations.

This was the latest class I did at Scrappy Hollow a few nights ago

however we did a variation and used different chipboard and paper -

I promised the Ladies I would show them the original.

So here it is and I hope you like 'both versions'.

I really wanted to achieve a vintage-shabby look for this

layout.

I think I did it.

School holiday blues ARRGGGGG!

I think I go a little around the twist during

the school holidays .

With 3 very active kids 7-5-3 it's game on!

I did manage to get this in though amongst being a constant referee.

This is Palette #12 at 'The color Room'.

A subdued earthy palette this week.

Back to fabric based again as I love texture!

It reminds me of the touch and feel books I had as a child.

The bricks are Scrapware - covered with impasto and then sprayed with gl/mist.

I finally did a layout with these pictures- this is Tarquinn at 4 and he's nearly 8 now!
Like so many scrappers - always got so many photo's that we shall get to 'oneday'?

O.K. I don't like to scrapjack but I had too.

I adapted this page from an idea I saw in a Somerset magazine.

Each envelope has a tag inside with a life quote and place for comment/date

which over time I have & will ask friends to pick one and write in it!

I had an education in Art and design for many, many years and this

quote simply reminds me how much of my life

is and has been based on

that passion..... and creativity!

It must be Love.

It's just turned lunch time and already I've been asked four times in the last hour if I'm crazy??

This is a layout for this weeks colour palette challenge at

'the color room'

Purple, white and 2 shades of green.

The crazy Q'n comes from the hand stitching of the tree branches....

Yes I did!!.

Stitching is my form of relaxation.

I have three crazy kids 7.5.3 who during the day drive me to a state of total insanity.

So that's why stitching (and scrapping) is therapy for me.

Tea time.

Occasionally I like to do layouts that are more based around paper or acetate than fabric

This is on my wedding day as I was walking to the car.

Anxiety and nervousness was starting to set in as well as ...I was so fed up with the photographer he got this look ! ( and a few choice words).

what a hard colour combo!!!!!!!

Eating Strawberries.

I've Turned up the volume for this layout and added some bright hand embroidered flowers

I wanted to add some playfulness to the layout,I think
these colours achieved that.

back to something more serene and angelic.
Angel...what I see when I look at you.
Well my daughter is older now and I see things a little bit differently most of the time now also.
i really like working with acetate on layouts, great to add dimension.

My daughter MacKenna went to a Birthday party in a 'total princess dress'

and within 10 minutes this is where I found her.....

in an old concrete drain surround having a bath and washing her hair!

So often layouts can cost a fortune but not this one-90cents on a piece of Bazzill cardstock.

On this layout I did some serious doodle drawing!

The hand cutting with a blade and hole punching was a bit exhausting though I must say.

I like the effect.

I love Chocolate!

One of my favourite colours to scrap with is chocolate and of course

eating it at the same time is just 'heaven'.

Add a splash of turquoise!

and a hint of green.....

Switch to orange for Autumn!

With rich Dark chocolate Satin and Burn't Red...

Pale pink, yellow, gold and red.........

and Chocolate satin upon a chipboard overlay

stay with the autumn colouring!

OH! But sometimes I like to get a little darker and use my true love......

BLACK!

SIA!

SIA is the Aussie version of CHA!- A Scrapbooking Trade show!

The theme this year by SIA was What if.......

I presented a number of layouts and items as a DT member for Scrapware and was given the theme Alice in Wonderland with the colour choice of Black-White and Red.

SIA had a What if.....competition consisting of 1 layout and 1 card

Here's my entries!

What if...... the garden is her wonderland.

What If....We all go mad in Wonderland!

I don't ever do cards so this was a challenge in itself.
I made it into the finalists and now these form part of the entry into the other 1/2 of the competition SIA had called the Diva competition -this will be announced late next month
by Magazine Scrapbook Creations - I'll keep hoping!

This is the 'Album-Journal-book' that I designed last year
and was released by Scrapware at SIA!

Please note that the pages are chipboard covered with Fabric.

'Remember fabric is my main medium'

Back of book - showing Jewelry I made. (it was a necklace but I converted it for the book)

Here's some pictures of a number of the pages inside
(too many to show all of them!)

All of the chipboard product used in the Album is Scrapware and was released at SIA!

The base here is chipboard with 4 equal cutouts

The pictures here have been placed in glass sliders and then I have poured Ice resin around them to give a clear window.

These are the large matchboxes that I made (2 back images)

and also the Alice Jewelry I made...lucky I have a daughter who

claimed them as soon as the show finished.

The cover again with the front of matchboxes.

Although I didn't get to go to the show I heard it was a great success

and there are some fabulous Aussie products coming soon!

So many of us scrapbookers aspire to being published.

It's not so easy to get published it's all so hit and miss......

You just have to be lucky that for some reason the editor decides

they like what you have done (for a change)!!!!!!!

One Mag will say no while the other may say yes???

I just had a mag say YES! and that's the reason behind this post.

Remember this though, in the years to come you and your family

have those layouts to cherish

that's what's important!

A change in my colour Palette!

I recently joined a new Scrap challenge site called

'The color Room'

as I so needed a boost in the Colour Mojo department.

It's great to push out of comfort zones and achieve something

that's a little different from the norm.

Every week TCR provides a new colour palette, picture and sketch

for everyone to go by- no restrictions on the medium you choose either

which is great.

So here is a few of my layouts from the past few weeks.

Palette #6 (his room)?

I love these colours for a girls layout and I

had the peferct sheer fabric for the colours to use.

The stitching is a little shabbier than usuall but because I

decided to stitch the flower into layout I was running out of time

and incase your wondering 'she-MacKenna' is usually no Angel that's for sure.

Here I have added some Gl/mist, shimmerz and used a

watercolour pencil for highlights.

TCR #5(her room).

I was trying to get a vintage-retro feeling to the layout and a little more childish-playful.
The edge is a few layers of panel stitched fabric and hessian.

This is for the same TCR #5 palette.
The focus for this layout was not the photos but more the tags
and labels of my daughters clothing.
I wish I had more pictures of the clothes I wore when I was a child
but I mostly know what my mum tells me.
If only I had those visions to remember in my head or to see
- that's why I decided to do this layout for my daughter.

Loads of fabric, tulle, lace and all things girly!

O.K...... so I knew creating a blog meant investing alot of time

and it looks like I have a lot of Scrappping layouts to put on.

I was in a Graphic 45 mood when I did these two layouts

No Bathers required.

This is my daughter MacKenna and the photo just went perfect with the G45 vintage paper. The backing paper got a coat of dim/magic to go with the shine of the red Satin fabric. The stitching and beading is again by hand. And embroidering those chip flowers took what seemed forever.

G45. black Satin, Prima flowers, Scrapware chipboard, Shimmerz and Glimmer mist.
(when the gl/mist was still wet i rubbed some off to create different texture and tone on the vine branch)
The pictures are actually mounted onto different heights of chipboard adding more dimension

The main medium I like to use is Fabric!

I'm a scrapbooker who likes to do OTP Journals and projects occasionally and

loves to dulge into mixed media.

Call it what you will but I call it Scrap-quilting!

I 'NEVER EVER' machine sew.

crazy lunatic I know but I completely hand sew everything

even if it takes a week or more.

These are a few of my older layouts.

The flowers were hand stitched by me directly into paper

and even the borders and flower stems are by hand!

this is stitched onto Satin and into paper.

So that's it till later!

I have a blog to fill so I better get busy taking some pictures of the layouts

lying all around the house!

A new Blogger!

I've finally done it!

That's right I have finally entered the world of blogging!

Thanks to a Scrapping buddy Lou who gave me a 'little' push and

the confidence to

get off my lazy butt and do so!

I don't think it's been laziness that has stopped me from blogging

but me just being weary of putting myself and my style of Scrapping

(it's definitely different) on show for anyone crazy enough to look at it!

So I sat and contemplated for days what would be my first layout

that I ever show on 'MY' blog.....

So it came down to one of my old favourites that I have created and here it is...

this was my choice:

The fabric is a super fine hessian, completely hand sewn

and the edge has two rows of hand beading.

the flowers have hidden beads within as well.

It's called- 'Someday'

this is a photo of my Niece Jessica at my wedding

and like all little girls she sat there watching

imagining that someday it would be her!

I really wanted the fabric texture to be

the main element on this layout.

So that's it I have finally Done it!
